Barely 22 years old and armed with a Casio keyboard, young and wildly off-beat musical comic Chris Condren is steadily making a name for himself on the Chicago scene. Chris has been a fixture at open-mic nights in the last year, and recently parlayed those appearances into a string of showcase bookings at venues including the Lincoln Lodge and the recently defunct Lakeshore Theatre. You know what isn’t defunct? The buzz about his act amongst comics, which was immediate and now ongoing. It should also be noted that Chris is afraid of aliens.

Jokes and Notes on South King Drive is a comedy shop that’s one of the stops on the Just for Laughs Festival taking place this week in Chicago. It’s the brainchild of native Chicagoan Mary Lindsey.
